Corin Jimenez Kathy at K Hair salon is the best in Hell’s Kitchen. I came to her with super damaged hair and I was so desperate for an amazing hair stylist , Thank the lord I found Kathy ! She been working with my hair for 2 years ! It’s so incredibly healthy and growing super long! She an expert at what she does and she so professional. I love how passionate she is about her work and her love it , or shows in the way she leaves my hair . Thank Kathy so much for always being the best !!

Thais Hernandez I’ve been going to Kathy for 4 years, at various locations and am SO happy she now runs her own shop! Kathy doesn’t compromise on quality and care. Connor Song I had Alvin and he was awesome. I virtually had no direction other than to make my hair shorter and he was able to figure out a style that fit me after some questions about what I preferred and just looking at my hair. I really appreciated his styling tips and liked how he took his time with the cut.

Kate V I came to Lilly to get my roots touched up, as well as to fix orange banding from a previous colorist. She recommended we do a keratin treatment for blondes, which I’m glad I did because it helped prevent hair breakage and loss during the bleach treatment. My hair felt amazing! She then fixed the banding and touched up my roots which was an incredibly difficult task because my hair was in very bad shape, with various shades of blonde and yellow and lots of breakage. Not only did she fix it without any breakage, she did it in about 3 hours! Usually my double process takes 5+ hours. And my hair felt soft, when usually bleaching will make it feel dry. Her salon space was very clean, she was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to my concerns/ communication. I don’t have great pictures but I’m including before and after photos.

She provided me with the best advice for my hair when I showed her what I was looking for and the results were wayyyy beyond better than my expectations. I’m absolutely in love with my new hair color! Also, Lilya did an amazing job with my hair cut and blow dry and she also over delivered with the look and bangs I wanted. She brought my vision to reality and I’m extremely happy with my experience overall. It’s hard to find a good and reliable salon in NY, and I’m happy I found my long term spot.

Jack Baker Royal Hair Salon is amazing! Great stylists and beautiful new space. I have been going to the owner, Sura, for years and he is an iconic stylist and master at his craft. He has a very loyal following so might be hard to book with him but I’m sure all the stylist there are great. This is my go to place in NYC. Can’t do better and the price is reasonable.

Desiree Rivera My experience at Royal Hair has been amazing. Neelam knows her craft. My eyebrows always look great and ladies if you looking to get that wax she your lady. Very clean, welcoming and professional environment. They also do amazing hair on both men and women. Maybe pricey but its worth it.

Anthony Rivelli Leo has been cutting my hair for a few years now . I found him on Google and I am so glad that I did . He gives an amazing skin fade and does a hot towel shave as well . I highly recommend anyone in the area to come and see for yourself. You will not be disappointed. It is always service with a smile as well . I have also been getting my eyes threaded for years . Neelam is the best in the business hands down . I have been coming here for a while now and I absolutely love how gentle and thorough and professional she is . Highly recommend eyebrow threading .

Peter Lee I had a positive experience getting a haircut from this place while I was on my way to visiting Banksy museum. Macca was the barber who cut my hair, and overall it came out great. The price is also quite affordable, much cheaper than other barbershops nearby. I would highly recommend this place for getting a mans haircut.

Daniela Sandoval First time getting a haircut here! I had an appointment with Kiyo and he was so nice and attentive through every step of my haircut. I have long thick hair and was way over due for a cut. Kiyo made sure to explain how to achieve certain styles with the curtain bangs I asked for. The bangs were tailored for my face shape which I really appreciated too. Super happy with the outcome and it was awesome to work with him!

Sherwood Callaway Mick at Green Room salon in NYC is an absolute pro! I’ve been getting my hair cut by him for multiple years now and followed him between studios. At some point, he suggested I try highlights… As a guy with short hair, I wasn’t sure how they would turn out, but Mick nailed it. He gave me a natural, low-maintenance look that still stands out. The vibe and staff at Green Room is super chill, and I really look forward to coming here every few months. Mick’s attention to detail of course is the real secret though. I’m a loyal customer and highly recommend!

Alina Kung Love the Green Room and will be coming back - it has great aesthetics, an easy to use website, and great people. Specifically, Mickey is an absolutely fantastic hairdresser. He is warm, personable, kind, and respectful - and during my second haircut, he even remembered details from our first conversation. He struck an amazing balance between looking carefully at the photos I shared with him and making some of his own recommendations, which is really helpful to me as someone who doesnt enjoy aesthetic decisions. The thing that really sets him apart though, is his teaching of practical hairstyling tips (my first haircut he explained how to properly blow dry hair - and an easy way to do it with just your hands!... and second haircut he explained how to use a flat iron to style the amazing haircut he just did). He is the most empowering hairdresser Ive met thus far and hope to keep coming back to. Also his hair washing techniques are incredibly relaxing, which includes thoughtfully placing a light cover over you for warmth, a cover over your eyes, and a short (amazing!) scalp massage. Highly recommend!

Guly Jabrayilova I’ve been going to SAMIR for a year and he is the best. all you have to do is briefly describe what you want or show him a picture and he’ll do exactly that, but he’ll also make sure to keep your hair healthy at the same time. The way she was able to lift my color from black box dye horror into this gorgeous cinnamon-honey brown, is nothing short of a miracle. She actually understands how to cut layers properly - I think we’ve all been there with “lawnmower layers” in the past. Lorraine Wong I was just in town visiting, but REALLY needed my hair colored. I was staying in the area and this had the highest reviews… I can totally see why! Once you get up to the 7th floor, it’s a relaxed atmosphere and all of the staff are super friendly. I made an appointment for cut and color and by luck, I got Michelle (the owner), for my color. My home colorist was making it too brassy and I needed to tone it down, but still have a nice dynamic shade. Michelle totally nailed it. The haircut with Paulina was equally amazing. She cleaned up my layers and gave me a cool, modern update to my haircut that moves really well. I’d say it’s expensive (because I’m not from the area) but I think this is what most salons in the area charge, so I don’t think it’s a negative. And of course, you get what you pay for. I also just saw their Insta page and think Blake Lively was just here and I always think she has such gorgeous color. Worth a visit!

emily wu Mohammed gave me the lilac hair that I have been wanting! My hair was already prelightened from years of bleach and I definitely did not want to further damage it. The communication on my desired hair color (I didn’t want it to be too intense or bold) without compromising the health of my hair was thorough and appreciated. He is super chill and very sweet. Very happy with the outcome! Def recommend a color session with him. :)

Sudalakshmee Chiniah Got my color done with Rae and my haircut with Paulina. Absolutely loved my experience with both. I’m a brunette and was worried about bleaching my hair but Rae took her time to talk to me and explain the process, she did the color exactly how I wanted it. I am so pleased with her! She checked again after I got my haircut! I will see Rae and Paulina again! It’s a bit pricy but worth it!!!

SFC The service at the salon was great, but I was extremely disappointed with the outcome of my hair color. As a Black woman, I take a lot of pride in my hair and put significant trust in trying a new salon. Unfortunately, the color turned out too yellow and patchy, which was not what I expected. To make matters worse, I believe I had an allergic reaction to the products used. When I reached out to the salon, they offered to fix the color but refused to provide a refund or even a partial refund, despite the damage done to my hair. If you’re a woman of color, I would recommend going to a salon that understands how to work with natural hair and caters to your specific needs. I spent $700 for a result I’m truly unhappy with, and it was a disappointing experience overall. I hope the salon can use this feedback to improve their approach.

Very detailed and its already growing out beautifully! After the amazing experience, i asked her to recommend someone to do my highlights and she didnt think twice to recommend Rae Ann. I shared my inspiration photo, and Rae Ann delivered! I wanted subtle chocolate brown highlights but enough that it would show off my black hair. She nailed it and it looks completely effortless and so damn natural! Forget the fact that she was a pleasure to chat with and made the experience one of the best along with Jacelyns cut. Adela Civovic was my hairstylist, and she did a FANTASTIC job with my highlights. She truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Aiza Zulkarnay My hair is very dry and damaged from my adolescence. I’ve been doing different keratin procedures for 10 years, so I clearly can compare effects. Nelly is a professional! She gave me deep analysis of my hair using special technology and helped me to find a best cosmetics for treatment. After one month use I was surprised, how cleaner and stronger my hair became. I decided to do scalp detox then, in order to completely recover them. Result was even more surprising. She explained me, how keratin and scalp help each other for better efficiency. Keratin could damage my weak hair without detox, but doing keratin after that treatment will even make the healing effect last for long, because protein under high temperature covered scalp detox and now my hair is strong, shiny and gorgeous. Observing my hair a week after procedure, I found Nelly’s job done brilliantly. I can tell, because usually a week after procedure hair behaves different way after different salons. I’m grateful to finally find a right specialist in New-York!

Alena It was my first experience and its amazing. my hair was fluffy, after the procedure it became so pleasant to the touch, smooth and shiny. I also really liked the scalp detox, after that the hair stayed clean longer. but i think without Nelly it wouldnt make such sense because she is super professional! highly recommend:)

Isabella Lopez Honeybliss salon is an amazing salon on the UES! I went into the first appointment unsure of what I wanted to do and Kadir the stylist guided me on what would be best. I did not like the outcome of my hair and they were happy to rebook an appointment. It was not a cheap process overall but I am glad I went back and got the hair I asked for. They use only Oribe products which is amazing. I would highly recommend and they are very detail oriented!

Shu Aw I have been getting my hair colored with Kadir & his team for a couple of years now and couldn’t imagine getting it done anywhere else. He always gets it right and is knowledgeable about hair health and color. Love the friendly and hard working staff as well. Highly recommend!
