04-2025 New City Barber Shop in The Best 14 Hair Salons in New City, NY (part 2) Mashithas Hair Studio - Congers Krissa Rinaldi: She came to consult with me and then let me come in after an event and stood so late for me to make sure my hair was in great condition. She was very nice inside and out - offered me beverages and a snack for how late she stayed to do a color correction on my hair, and even blow dried and curled it. She shocked me with my hair because it looked so good! It was so healthy even when she brushed my hair and told me not a lot of hair shredded! And she is around the corner from my house so the travel is convenient for me!
I def would recommend her! She was a first time stylist to me and I couldnāt believe how she got my eyes to pop, it goes with my skin tone and I didnāt look so bland after the tints of red in my hair from the last time my hair was done which wasnāt what I asked for!
I appreciate her time and effort and patience with doing my hair ! Itās been less than 24 hrs and Iām getting so many compliments
Shear Magique Hair Studio - Pomona ŠÆŠŗŃŠ² Ā«KacombaĀ» ŠŃŠŗ: Good place for people with long hair, but for short hairā¦ better to find something else. When I had long hair, my experience with Julie was great, but when I asked her for a short haircutā¦ I gave her a reference, but result really far from ref. Right now my head seems like a big weird egg, because she cuted off hair on sides too high and not straight, like stairs. So now it is better to hide my hair under a hat or even buzz and grow it again
Xclusive Barbershop - New City All Oftis: I asked for the picture of the hair cut below and the barber gave me a ceaser haircut with a high fade. Sadly last time Iāll be coming to this store this was not the first time they messed up my hair cut.
G&J Barber Shop - New City Scott Kaminsky: Anthony is the only barber that I feel that I can completely trust. He has been cutting my hair for years and I must say that he truly listens to your requests and always delivers. Not only does he provide top-notch hair cuts but he also has fantastic recommendations for streaming shows and movies. I highly recommend Anthony to anyone looking for a skilled and personable barber.
Sals Barber Shop - New City Mark H: I have been coming here since I was literally 6 years old but today will be the last day I ever come back. The decline has been rapid the last few months and now with the entire place smelling like oil, extension cords being fed through windows, and impossible to know when your barber will be available, its time to call it quits Im sad to say.
A barbershop should be a place that is easy to book and get ON TIME service, enjoyable and relaxing to be in and just the overall feeling of being a guest. This is non of those anymore. The end of an era
Salon 304 Threading by Jesse / Best Eyebrows place in Nanuet NY - Nanuet Nancy Scott: I was lucky to find Jesse through google reviews. This was the first time I have EVER had a painless threading experience! Jesse was so lovely and kind. My eyebrows look fantastic and my lip and chin are hairless and I didnāt death grip the chair! Thank you, Jesse! You have another loyal client.
SUPERCUTS - nanuet - Nanuet Roro S: If I can give a ZERO I will. Worst stylist , horrible job, horrible attitude after, and possibly the worst customer service from a manager. I was referred Yan by my stylist from another Supercuts cuz she was leaving. I told Yan I wanted Sunkist natural highlights that start halfway down and grown out. I showed him a picture and said this is how I want it. He acknowledged by saying āyou want grown out look natural look that frames the faceā I said yes. I continued to sat several times, I Do Not Want chunky highlights, I donāt want anything close to the scalp, I donāt like stripes where my hair looks frosted or very blond.. that I donāt like drastic contrasts. He acknowledged & said no problem.
As for the cut, I showed him two pics and I said I want it textured & he said u want kind of a shaggy look, and I said kind of I DONT WANT tons of layers that will flip and look like a Christmas tree. And I want a heavy bottom not so many layers.
So I trusted him based on the referral and I said all the things I didnāt want enough, to know I was going to be ok. I was looking down my phone working while he blow dried my hair.. I look up and it was the opposite of what I asked for and exactly what I said repeatedly NOT TO DO! When I said , why is it white & why do I have so many layers u
(He even told me he want doing a lot of layers around my neck) , but I got exactly all these layers I didnāt want? He responds with a shrug, fist on hip, and says with a half rolled eye look & attitude ā well u didnāt want me to blend it, so I didnātā. I was in such a hurry I just paid and left. $245!!!!
I called the manager the next day and she said they canāt help me and for me to go back to my other stylist to fix it. My stylist had only one day & didnāt have opening. So when I called the manager back to say there wasnāt an opening, she said āoh well, there isnāt anything I can do about thatā . I got so mad.. that I ended up having to go the Ramsey location and had to get all my hair cut off and remove all the white frosted highlights. Miriam in Ramsey saved me. I was so embarrassed by my hair. I had to pay to get rid of what Yan did to me. For a horrible white/silver frosted highlights that were extremely uneven, and a butchered haircut that was everything I said Not TO Do! I wish I could call the owner to tell them how horrible Yan is and disgusting of a customer service by their manager. I posted pics here of what I showed him and he confirmed that he can do it in his 13years of experience (this due looks like someone came out of beauty school) what I wanted and what I got. The color was worse in person, and the cut made me look like a squid & a Xmas tree.

Midtown Hair - Canton Morgan Green: Noel has always done the boys hair if I donāt! Sheās great! Environment is small (which I enjoy more than a huge salon) but very cozy! They do their best to accommodate youā„ļø
The Beauty Bar - Canton Natalie Wendig: Wow! Amazing job by Danielle with my hair color and cut. I have been trying to achieve this look for several years and each time it has not turned out as I had hoped. Danielle listened to my ideas (and they werenāt very clear because I donāt have a lot of experience with how to ask for what I would like with my hair) and got it spot on. Same with the cut. I had a direction I wanted to go but wasnāt sure what to do. She educated me and gave me a few different options that would meet my needs and it looks amazing. I love my hair. I have never smiled as much and been so āwow-edā before. She is a very skilled stylist and sweet person. Thank you so much Danielle!
