03-2025 Palms Salon in The Best 19 Hair Salon in Manhattan, New York Country NYC THE TEAM- hair salon - New York Lorraine Wong: I was just in town visiting, but REALLY needed my hair colored. I was staying in the area and this had the highest reviews… I can totally see why! Once you get up to the 7th floor, it’s a relaxed atmosphere and all of the staff are super friendly. I made an appointment for cut and color and by luck, I got Michelle (the owner), for my color. My home colorist was making it too brassy and I needed to tone it down, but still have a nice dynamic shade. Michelle totally nailed it. The haircut with Paulina was equally amazing. She cleaned up my layers and gave me a cool, modern update to my haircut that moves really well. I’d say it’s expensive (because I’m not from the area) but I think this is what most salons in the area charge, so I don’t think it’s a negative. And of course, you get what you pay for. I also just saw their Insta page and think Blake Lively was just here and I always think she has such gorgeous color. Worth a visit!
Royal Hair Salon - New York Jack Baker: Royal Hair Salon is amazing! Great stylists and beautiful new space. I have been going to the owner, Sura, for years and he is an iconic stylist and master at his craft. He has a very loyal following so might be hard to book with him but I’m sure all the stylist there are great. This is my go to place in NYC. Can’t do better and the price is reasonable.
Hair Lounge NYC - New York Danielle Ruff: I am often picky with my blowouts/hair stylists and I was very pleased with my services here! I got a blowout with Leah before my birthday party, and felt super confident, with a lot of my friends complimenting my hair. She is a true professional, along with the rest of the staff. Highly recommend!
Shear Bliss NYC Salon - New York Samantha Seaman: Shear Bliss is my one stop shop for all of my hair needs. The staff is super welcoming, accommodating and friendly. My stylist, Michelle, never disappoints! I trust her work and I’m always leaving the salon feeling brought back to life. See you in a couple months!
AEREA SALON NYC - New York Georgia Little: I have been coming to Alex for years and I wish I found him sooner! Before I found Alex it was hard to find someone who was consistent with my highlights. Every time I walk in I know I am going to leave loving my hair. Even if I wasn’t happy with the highlights I know he would stay however long it took to get it right. He once did my hair on Christmas at 6 am!!! He cares about all of his clients and always goes above and beyond to make sure they are taken care of. He listens to what his clients want and is consistent. If you come to the salon you will see every chair filled and it’s for a reason. He is a great listener, professional, knowledgeable, and a hard worker. You won’t regret coming to Alex.
Art of Hair salon NYC - New York Kate V: I came to Lilly to get my roots touched up, as well as to fix orange banding from a previous colorist. She recommended we do a keratin treatment for blondes, which I’m glad I did because it helped prevent hair breakage and loss during the bleach treatment. My hair felt amazing! She then fixed the banding and touched up my roots which was an incredibly difficult task because my hair was in very bad shape, with various shades of blonde and yellow and lots of breakage.
Not only did she fix it without any breakage, she did it in about 3 hours! Usually my double process takes 5+ hours. And my hair felt soft, when usually bleaching will make it feel dry.
Her salon space was very clean, she was extremely knowledgeable and responsive to my concerns/ communication. I don’t have great pictures but I’m including before and after photos.
Maison de MI Salon | Korean Hair Salon - New York Candy Y: My 15yo daughter and I had our Head Spa treatments done right before we’re flying back to Florida. We were greeted and welcomed. Without much wait, we were seated to begin services. We did detox, moisturizing treatments along with some scalp massages. My stylist, Beau, was super attentive from water temperature to how I wanted to style my hair…. Look at how pretty she made my hair looks!! Love my experience at Maison with Beau!! Give her a shout!! You will be happy that you did!!
ARYA HAIR SALON NYC, Highlights, Balayage Highlights, Hair Color, Color Correction, Ammonia Free Color, Hair Extension - New York Lina Oh: Jacob is such a fantastic colorist! I got a double process coloring from elsewhere that resulted in terribly brassy, orangish hair, and wanted it toned to a more natural brown to fit my skin tone. Jacob showed me different shades of toning that was available, communicated efficiently on what I wanted, and delivered the perfect result! The entire process took about 2 hours and was so smooth & comfortable :) Will definitely return in the future & highly recommend to others!
Zelda June Hair Salon - New York ZaharoZee iCloud: Zelda is an absolute wonder. She was my first balayage experience and has been for 3+ years now. Not only is she the most talented, honest and sweetest person I know, but her hair skills (or how I like to call it, her hair ART) is beyond expectation. Not to mention, her prices are considerably reasonable and fair for a salon in the heart of NYC. Highly recommend Zelda at All About Hair!!
Balayage Me Hair Salon - New York Diana C Vallejos: I had a pleasant experience overall— read if you are peculiar about processes.
The owner, David, took great care of me. He was very hospitable and did a lovely job with the coloring of my hair —he works very fasts! Which almost makes up for the fact that we got started on my hair 45min past my confirmed appointment, that I paid a $20 deposit for.
Heads up ladies! If you are shy around men, you should know they have a man doing the hair washing. This took me back at first but, he was surprisingly very gentil and did a phenomenal job! I 10/10 recommend the young man for your wash.
What I did NOT appreciate, was that I asked and **paid** for a blowout but David’s team insisted that flat iron curls were a better option “for the sake of the pictures”, huh?— it definitely was not the look I was going for...
Anyways, with all that being said. Even though they aren’t great with stinking to a schedule, I can work past that because David is very talented and I want to believe his team meant well.
With better communication I am positive my next experience will be 10/10.
