4 /5 gaza boss: My kids love this area! Right by the water with plenty of benches and spots that you can dip your feet in the water if you’d like. It is very quiet and peaceful usually and rarely ever crowded. Great place to study or relax while enjoying the river views, boats and ships pass, and river sounds.

5 /5 Tere GB: Small but nice park with some foliage in the fall early November. Scenic with views of the river and the bridge. Not too crowded even in on a weekend. Went before sunset and was able to take pictures before and after. Easy easy from the Poughkeepsie station.

5 /5 Slav Ligai: When we visited the place we were lucky to catch some live music - some sort of smooth jazz. Since the audience was well prepared to that performance with folding chairs and umbrellas, I assume that the kind of events that we witnessed are happening on a regular basis over there. Its nice to have such cultural events where you live. The longest (and highest?) walking bridge in the world adds up to the amusement as well.

5 /5 Daisy: Incredibly clean and serene park by the Hudson. The elevator up to the walkway was clean and well maintained. Its great for accessability patrons. A wonderful park to take a stroll and watch the boats.

David Gurzynski: A very nice place for a nature walk! In a bit of a valley so its quieter. Dont go looking for bathrooms, the area is QUITE undeveloped and that makes it a nice walk.

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.: Sad to have seen the closure of the Academy Food Hall and Bread & Batter Bakery a little while ago, but this mural lives on as a backdrop to many weddings & other events. You can still get burgers & coffee here, and host professional events nearby. Hoping these paintings & buildings get preserved for ages!

Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator - Poughkeepsie

Liliana Judge: We used the Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator on Saturday around 10 am to go down, and there was an attendant inside managing it. However, when we tried to return up at 10:30 am, the elevator wasn’t working. We waited for 30 minutes and tried everything - called the posted phone number (mailbox was full), waved my hat to get the attention of staff, all to no avail. Fortunately, a maintenance person came by and was able to fix the elevator for one ride only, which allowed us to get back up. They continued working on repairs for the rest of the day. The staff was helpful once they arrived, but it would be extremely beneficial to have an electronic sign that updates visitors on the elevator’s status (open, closed, or under maintenance). Overall, the elevator is a convenient service when operational, and the maintenance team was responsive once on site.

Quiet Cove Riverfront Park - Poughkeepsie

Ed Tubridy: I was in town for a quick visit and I wanted to see the Hudson River up close. This is a great place to do it. It’s dog friendly and I met some local people just hanging out and they told me it used to be an insane asylum. The most excellent experience.

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.: The Cryptic Murals have been a local treasure since at least the early 2010s. Cryptic Art Gallery closed a little while ago, but art events are still hosted at the nearby affiliated Reason & Ruckus lounge.

Serendipitously, many of these murals were commissioned in 2018, shortly after I got back from visiting Los Angeles, California, the American capital of street art that isnt considered graffiti. As far as coincidences go, I think thats pretty cool!
