1 /5 Jessica: The former restaurant that was named the river station. Well the parking lot there for that restaurant which has been closed for a little while now has turned into a place where people smoke marijuana inside their cars and do sexual acts inside the cars and this is because the restaurant has not been sold and there is no police presence at this park by the river and theres a lot of crazy activity that goes down over there. Back in the early 2000s cops used to patrol that area. Dems have not let the police so their work and it shows in the horrible state the city of Poughkeepsie is after like three decades. Disgusting. The new Mayor needs to address these issues and also the horrible condition of the streets in the city of Poughkeepsie. I should send my car repair bills straight to the mayor herself so she can pay for them.

1 /5 Shyam Kunadia: I came to this park to eat breakfast with a view. The most prominent view is the dumpsters and the garbage scattered throughout. The city needs to do a better job.

4 /5 Christine Chapdelaine: Watching the movement of the ice with the tide coming in was pretty cool. Due to the tide coming in, the ice was flowing north in a river that flowed south. There are picnic tables and grills for warmer weather days.

David Gurzynski: A very nice place for a nature walk! In a bit of a valley so its quieter. Dont go looking for bathrooms, the area is QUITE undeveloped and that makes it a nice walk.

Anne Hathaway did not spit in my food.: Sad to have seen the closure of the Academy Food Hall and Bread & Batter Bakery a little while ago, but this mural lives on as a backdrop to many weddings & other events. You can still get burgers & coffee here, and host professional events nearby. Hoping these paintings & buildings get preserved for ages!

Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator - Poughkeepsie

Liliana Judge: We used the Hudson Bridge Walking Elevator on Saturday around 10 am to go down, and there was an attendant inside managing it. However, when we tried to return up at 10:30 am, the elevator wasn’t working. We waited for 30 minutes and tried everything - called the posted phone number (mailbox was full), waved my hat to get the attention of staff, all to no avail. Fortunately, a maintenance person came by and was able to fix the elevator for one ride only, which allowed us to get back up. They continued working on repairs for the rest of the day. The staff was helpful once they arrived, but it would be extremely beneficial to have an electronic sign that updates visitors on the elevator’s status (open, closed, or under maintenance). Overall, the elevator is a convenient service when operational, and the maintenance team was responsive once on site.

Quiet Cove Riverfront Park - Poughkeepsie

Ed Tubridy: I was in town for a quick visit and I wanted to see the Hudson River up close. This is a great place to do it. It’s dog friendly and I met some local people just hanging out and they told me it used to be an insane asylum. The most excellent experience.
