Address: 299 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217

(125) Reviews Rika Nail Salon:

Kate Gelbart Great services for really wonderful prices. I’ve gone twice now for a regular pedicure and a gel manicure with nail art. I’ve been very happy both times and both services lasted me easily 3 weeks and could’ve lasted longer if I hadn’t needed a refresh for an event.

Chans Kong I’ve been coming here since last year. I always get gelx extensions. Two different techs helped me in the past but I’ve seen Wendy twice now. They are so meticulous, kind, gentle, and so great at putting my ideas onto my nails. I got these done last Saturday and also got a gel pedi, which is why the cost range I marked was so high. My nails are exactly what I wanted. First time getting cat eye/velvet nails. Got them done for a spring wedding this weekend :) highly recommend. I usually make an appt but I did do a walk in once. My nails usually last 6+ weeks, and I am very rough with my hands. I coach and play volleyball 3-4x/wk, hitting the gym 3-5x/wk, taking care of my dog, typing a lot, and using my hands for everyday chores (cooking, cleaning). I have to get them removed at a salon, they are so strong!

Tiegan York The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the pedicure chair, which I’ll explain a bit further in this review. I’m new to Brooklyn and had walked past this nail salon several times before deciding to give it a try last week. I’m so glad I did because I have absolutely no regrets. The customer service was outstanding, and Joanna, my nail tech, was incredibly sweet. I’m extremely impressed with my nails. It was a little pricey, but absolutely worth it. I got a Gel-X set with Japanese gel, and the results were stunning. Now, about the pedicure. The finished look was just as beautiful as the nails, but the setup left much to be desired. They don’t have massaging chairs that recline, and the water bowls don’t have jets. Instead, there’s a single long bench against a wall. I usually enjoy pedicures for the relaxation they provide, so this setup was disappointing. If you’re tall like me (I’m 62") or have joint issues like osteoarthritis, the experience can be quite uncomfortable. I felt cramped throughout, which led to muscle cramps and discomfort. I will definitely be returning, but only for nail services. The pedicure experience was unfortunately not suitable for me. The total cost for a brow wax, gel pedicure, and Gel-X with Japanese gel came to just under $300. Despite the pedicure setup, I still highly recommend this salon!

Mo Phillips Not a long wait. Staff was friendly. Variety of colors to choose from. Clean facility. The only issue was I felt she rushed doing my nails, file job could be better. Overall decent salon Id return to see how a 2nd try will go.

Lily Ha Ive been coming for a year now getting gel manicure. The price is reasonable, the wait times are never too long, the service is efficient, great color selection, and every technician has been friendly. Also, I keep coming back because the gel lasts! It ranges 2-4 weeks but typically 3 weeks without lifting (photos included). I work with my hands every day so 3 weeks no lift is amazing. I know a lot of factors go into gels longevity and Ive been really lucky here. My family owns a nail salon in a different state so I know how it goes and this place is great for my needs!

Hebe Lin I really like their store, the people in the store are very friendly! I went with the selected pictures, they were done very well, I love my nails, I will choose to go here next time!

Anne Belding I had a wonderful experience at Tutti Nails. The team is very friendly and Lily did an amazing job. She spent extra time making sure the shape was just right. I have very narrow nail beds and she took extra care while using the file and tools. Will definitely be back!

Nour Al Ghraowi This is definitely the best nail spot I’ve been to in Brooklyn, and became my spot because of how they treat their costumers, the cleanliness and the best part is Bella! Every time I go there I request Bella because she’s truly the best!! I wanted to do something special for my book launch so she had recommendations and she even helped me match the colors to my book cover. I got SNS. Aims with Ice gel on top! I highly recommend this spot!

Emily Green This is my go-to nail salon in Williamsburg. They always do a great job and Bella is the best! I highly recommend going to her for a gel manicure!! They’ve always been so well done and lasted perfectly for 3 weeks

Abbie Ruff Super wonderful experience, everyone was super friendly and their work was exceptional! The pedicure specifically was really nice, they used some really unique (to me) spa treatments, so I felt very pampered. Definitely will be back!

Will Li I really enjoyed the cute and warm vibes of this salon! The decor is amazing and it’s nice that the place is super spacious. This was my first ever getting my nails done and they did a wonderful job being patient and accommodating for me. I really enjoyed talking to my nail tech Salina. She was thorough with my nails and kept asking me my thoughts on the nail art. I appreciated that she took the extra time to make the finer details on my nails to what I wanted. Would come back again, management was so sweet!!

Ariadne Vasquez I got an acrylic soak off and manicure. My appointment started a little late because she was finishing up a massage. I guess to make up for lost time, she rushed through the soak off. She underestimated how long my natural nails were and cut too deep. Nipping the tip of my thumb. My fingers feel all cut up. I do love the nail polish color and the quality of the manicure is great. *update* After removing the polish, I saw that my nails still had a thin layer of acrylic still on them. I’m so disappointed. *final update* Thank you to management for reaching out. I was invited back to the salon and had a better experience. All of the acrylic was removed gently and I received a relaxing manicure. They really do have a nice selection of colors for regular polish.

Sonya Hooks I needed a last-minute nail appointment because I wasn’t able to get to my regular technician in Manhattan. I have been wanting to patronize this place because it’s only a few blocks from my house (and from what I know black-woman owned) but the two other times I inquired they didn’t have appointments available. On a whim, I called them and they said I could come right in. I had dip powder that needed to be soaked off and a couple of broken nails - so needed my nails cut down and I opted for a simple gel manicure to get me right. Carla, a new technician there, took care of me. And for a last minute appointment, she did a pretty good job. She was friendly and attentive - gave a great hand scrub and a strong hand massage- not something I normally receive as a very regular nail salon goer and didn’t realize how much I would enjoy that as part of my service. All in all, it was a good experience. It’s nice to know this option exists in the neighborhood. Dings for not giving 5 stars, not the newest nor most updated salon, had me wondering about the cleanliness. I wasn’t offered any nail chips to choose a nail color, so I had to wing it by looking at the bottles- which is not the easiest with gel polish bottles. Because my technician was new there, she wasn’t sure about the price structure, so I worried slightly that the price I was quoted might have been inflated. But again, like I said, overall, it was a good experience and I would go again.

Cassidy Orr Jasmine snatched my nails UP!!! I was having the hardest time finding a new place to get my acrylic nails done since I moved here. She was so sweet and did some of my favorite nails Ive ever had!! Love!!
5 /5
Kay Car I would give this place zero stars if i could. I went to get my nails done on Monday 9/23 for a dip mani on my natural nails after learning the salon was offering 50% a nail service to new clients. I was really excited because I was referred to this place by a former nail tech but she wasnt sure if the person who she knew still worked here at this location. I went willingly mostly because the instagram page for this salon was really put together and the nail art looked great. I get to my appointment and the nail technician informed me the products she needed to apply dip to my nails werent available i.e the polish bottle thats used to bond the dip to my nails. Instead, she mixed together random products that i later learned was used for acrylic nails (see image 1). The application process was absolutely horrendous (see image 2) and everytime i asked questions the nail technician Jasmine had a horrible attitude saying things like “girl ive been doing nails for a long time i know what im doing” which is very unprofessional. During my service, Jasmine also seemed bothered by the fact that I expressed hurt/pain when she cut my fingers using the cuticle cutter. Again, lacking professional and basic care/compassion for clients. I paid the service fee which came to $51 which i think is absolutely ridiculous for how the final product of my nails turned out (see image 3). I then followed up with the alleged store owner Kendra. I explained my experience and asked for a refund but her response was “i cant offer a refund because I didnt even make any money off your nail service since it was already discounted” which was red flag #1 and only highlights the fact that this salon owner only cares about money and not about the clientele. The owner Kendra then excused her Technicians behavior with “you and Jasmine probably didnt vibe” insinuating thats probable cause and justification for why my nails turned out horribly. She offered for me to go back in to get the service fixed by another nail technician named Tatianna who did a good job cleaning up the mess that was made at my initial appointment (see image 4&5). Overall, the professionalism is absolutely not there and very disappointing i even spent money coming here and wont be back. I hope the store owner sees this review and views this as a learning opportunity and not a knock to their business. I really wanted to support this black owned business in the neighborhood but unfortunate circumstances such as this make it extremely daunting. Update: later that same night on 9/24, i got two charge alerts from my bank showing this business tried to charge my card on file twice (see last two images) for the repair service that was free of charge by the store owner. When i left the salon, i didnt pay anything because the service was free of charge so im confused why someone from this business waited until 10:46pm to attempt to charge my card when there was no receipt or signature of mine provided. Stay away from this business. Response to owners comment (plus proof yet again with photos): Hi Kendra, i’ll gladly accept a FULL refund of $51 (please see bank statement from initial date of service 9/23). I have no reply to the other fabricated portion of your story. Theres proof in every photo i posted so I dont need to say much more. Good luck with your business and i hope you see this occurrence as a learning opportunity moving forward.

Franki King I went on the recommendation of my mother and pictures I’ve seen from their Instagram account. Contacted them at first for an appointment but was told walk-ins are welcomed. They ONLY accept cash so ensure to bring cash. I was serviced by Ming for a hard gel refill. She removed my old set before applying the new one. Her nail care service (cleaning and cutting cuticles) was better than some of the images I’ve seen. Personally I was not happy how she applied the gel as there are some areas that the gel color is light/missing. Or it does not look like a natural set as the gel is 1cm from my cuticle. She applied the gelish foundation then placed my hand under the UV/led light. Next were 2 separate coats of the gel color—this is where sections were missing or light then followed by the hard gel. Once this cured/dried she placed the remover liquid to ensure the stickiness was off my nail then placed a hot towel followed by lotion. I forgot to mention she ask how long/short I preferred my nail and once she removed my old set she had me wash my hands at the sink. Also I would suggest you make an appointment depending on the time you show up. Within 15-min of sitting/waiting there was an influx of people that showed up which pushed all service wait time to 40-minutes!

Ashley Vidal If you’re looking to be over charged and have your nails destroyed, this is the place. The nail artist I was paired with did not really know the technique to accomplish what I was looking for, even though my inspo was literally from their own salon. At that point, I just wanted to be out of the salon so I bit the bullet and just paid. They charged me $100 for a crappy nail design and the nail tech left DENTS in my nails from improper use of the Efile. So disappointing. I think they should work on getting all the nail techs to be at the same skill level so when you are paired with one, it’s not a gamble. Will never return here again.

Tynisha Wynder Great experience here! Noticed right away it doesnt have the chemically smell when you first walk in, which was great. Everyone is greeted upon entering and I noticed that there were regulars that were known by name. I got a basic manicure and it was the first time my tween got tips. Im a super protective mo so I had a lot of questions. Sally was so patient and kind answering all my questions and guiding me to what would be the best option for her. My daughter was so pleased with how they turned out! I was too! My daughter said she wants to come back for her birthday. I will be back for a pedicure soon!

RSR I visited Posy Nail Art Shop again, and I was so happy to be back! The staff remembered me, which made me feel so welcome. They were incredibly kind, fast, and paid attention to every little detail to make sure everything was perfect. They matched the color I wanted exactly, and I absolutely loved the result. The shop itself is bright and super clean, which made the whole experience even better. I’m 100% planning to come back again, and I highly recommend this place to anyone. I’m going on vacation next week, and thanks to them, I feel totally ready!

James McMurray I finished a hard day planting bulbs on my hands and knees. I was a little embarrassed at the state if my hands so I opted for a pedicure. Coco was so focused and soothing to my tired ole feet. The salon is so clean. The ladies dont talk too loud or too much. Some soothing music would be nice. The chair massage seemed new and was amazing. My feet feel great. More self care from now on . Once a month. Thank you ladies. The hot tea was lovely.

Lauren Happened to stumble upon this as I moved to the area and never going anywhere else! They always kill it! Both walk ins and reservations are taken care of amazingly. Perfect treat to myself for my birthday and for the cold winter we’ve had. Yayi was an amazing technician and did an incredibly job with my busted ass feet. So relaxing and lush.

Tya Arnold i went in for a pedicure and left with SCRATCHES AND WELTS all over the top of my feet and they refuse to refund me for the inconvenience and harm. not sure of the tech’s name, illhana maybe? she wears a hijab- who was very kind and gave me a good polishing job but ultimately used the tool wrong. maybe my skin is sensitive, but i don’t think so- a pumice stone shouldn’t be used for bodily skin- only the soles of feet. at the time of the service i felt a slight irritation after the scrub but i didn’t mention it after because i thought that it would go away, but waking up the next morning, my feet were raw and full of scratches! my feet look god awful!! to make matters worse, the manager was very condescending and made statements that allude to me lying about this by saying that ‘they ran back footage and saw that i left satisfied.’ i was satisfied at that point because the scratches and pain hadn’t been as apparent, which i told her and they still insist that i dont deserve a refund and can only come in for another discounted service. its one thing to mess up, we’re all human, but to try to put blame and not take some accountability after causing literal BODILY HARM is just terrible business ethics. really shows the lack of empathy. save your money and go elsewhere!!!

Molly Hodson i’ve been really excited to try tsou since my usual nail tech left the neighborhood, but unfortunately my first experience here was disappointing. i booked a manicure with a specific nail tech based on her google reviews, and when i arrived for my appointment she told me she was busy with another client and that i should just go to another tech who was free at the time. i was confused by this but decided to get my appointment started, since the original tech didn’t tell me how long the wait would be. i thought maybe she would come take over on my nails after she finished up with the previous client, but she ended up taking a different client right after the original one left. the tech who ended up working on my nails was incredibly sweet, attentive and patient, especially since i was confused by the appointment situation and overwhelmed by gel options. i really appreciated the extra time she took to educate me on which gel base she would be using for natural nails based on my preferences and goals, and she even went out of her way to show me what different color and chrome combos looked like on some tester nails. i landed on a color and chrome combo that i absolutely love, but sadly i’m unhappy with the execution. the gel based turned out uneven and inconsistent, the edges of the polish aren’t clean, and my cuticles look and feel rough. i don’t foresee this particular manicure lasting very long before chipping, due to the way the polish was applied. when i’m investing in a premium gel manicure, i really make sure to do my research beforehand to find the right tech and make sure it’s worth the money. the tech who worked on my nails was lovely and professional, but my nails are not at the level that i was expecting them to be, based on photos of work done by the tech i originally booked with. i’m disappointed in the way that the appointment situation was handled, and i’m frustrated that i paid the same amount of money for a lower quality manicure. i’m willing to try again at tsou and book with a different tech who can deliver better results, and i hope that my original appointment will be honored this time. the owner arrived towards the end of my appointment and she was very warm and friendly, as was the overall atmosphere of the salon, so i truly hope my next experience is better here.

Jamiee Nathaniel I have been going to miGak since 2018 and the service and quality has always been consistent and stellar. Typically, I see Shizuka, and to say she is talented would be an understatement! Any idea I show her, she is seamlessly able to recreate, and I also can never go wrong with one of her freestyle designs. All her designs are perfectly hand painted, and I get compliments all the time. She is a gem!!! Will always trust her with my nails whether it’s everyday or the biggest occasions.

Sheila Xia My new favorite nail salon in Brooklyn! Shizuka is so talented! I’m beyond impressed. Not knowing what exactly what I wanted, I showed some inspirational photos to her and she immediately got what’s in my mind by designing a look. I’m obsessed with my nail art! The entire experience was so pleasant and the gel experience was totally different from my previous ones. My nails were not violently sanded down to very thin. I have a really good sense that my nails will be healthy instead of being damaged. The space is also beautiful and clean. Highly recommended! Also it’s a great idea to make an appointment ahead of time as all the artists here are booked solid. They also have a hair salon and eyelash services in the space. Perfect for a personal care day!

Carolina Hernandez I had a gone to another studio for gelx and they really botched the design & hurt my fingers. I came here to get it fixed and they were so kind and understanding. They really listened to what I wanted and were so careful with my fingers. I am posting this now after my second time and got gelx with them. Discovered that gelx application did not have to be painful as they made the process completely painless. They were thorough and attentive to making the design I asked for. One design didn’t come out right but when I went the next day, they were gracious and fixed it without hesitation. I truly have found my new go to nail salon. I am so grateful especially because it is close to home and they put alot of care into their work and making their clients happy.

shaquana wright I recently visited Emmy Nail and I had such a wonderful experience! From the moment I walked in, the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The salon had a relaxing atmosphere with a clean and modern vibe, which immediately made me feel at ease. I was so impressed with the level of professionalism and attention to detail. The technician took their time to ensure my nails looked perfect and was happy to make recommendations when I was unsure of which color or style to choose. The tools were sanitized, and I appreciated how carefully they worked throughout the process. The result? Absolutely flawless nails! The polish lasted longer than I expected, and I received so many compliments on the design. I also appreciated the great selection of colors and nail art options. Olivia Jones I came here for the first time today for an acrylic fill, and I will definitely be coming back! They were flexible, and able to fit me in even though I was running late. The nail tech, Louis, was very patient with me when I changed my mind about the design I wanted, and super receptive to my ideas and helpful with choosing the right colors. He shaped and filed my nails perfectly, and I could tell that he wanted to make sure each nail was uniform and even. When it came to the design, he paid very close attention to detail, and asked questions about my preferences throughout the process. He checked in with me every step of the way to make sure I was satisfied with his work, and the design turned out better than I could have expected. Thank you Emmy and Louis!

Nana Osei-Tutu Went yesterday for a regular pedicure and acrylic set, and all I’m going to say is to tread with caution. The man who did my pedicure did a good job, but the woman who did my manicure could care less about how my nails turned out. I asked for a maroon french and this is how they turned out. Extremely sloppy looking, very even, and way chunkier than I would have liked them to be. I also asked for my nails to be shorter, but the woman kept insisting that if I wanted almond nails, they needed to be medium length. I probably should have waited to get my nails done by the other woman that was there because the other customer that was having her nails done came out very nice. Again, tread carefully if you plan on getting serviced at this salon. Take all the sparkling reviews with a grain of salt.

Ivana Jiron I just moved to the area and have been coming here for a few months now. They are super friendly and helpful when it comes to your requests. I’ve been getting simple acrylic manicure and gel pedicure and they have come out beautiful. I haven’t tried the other nail shop across the street mostly because I like the vibe of this place and will continue coming here.

keithlee spangler My dip came out lumpy, uneven, and streaky. She tried to cover it with matching gel, which took care of the streaks, but it’s still uneven, lumpy, and poorly applied around the base and edges. $45 plus tip for a manicure I’ll need to get redone. She said it’s because the dip wasn’t dry enough when she started filing, so I don’t know why we didn’t wait longer except that there were other people waiting and she probably wanted to rush me out. I also asked for coffin and she did mostly square. Did not feel like she listened to me, even as I continued to advocate.

Li S Not my favorite place-- I only go here if absolutely desperate. Unfortunately Ive had two poor experiences, most recently I ended up yelping about my cuticles (I had told the tech before we began, and during that I cant stand my cuticles being pulled--she didnt it anyway, more than once, until I finally got my hand away from her). Like, please listen to your customers! Also, its not super clean, and really needs an update!

Miz P I have been coming to this nail salon for a short while and have been receiving great service. Yes not all are able to do my nails due in part to the length of my nails or not being as experienced with nail design. However my nail tech is patient and experienced, and creates beautiful designs. The business has made upgrades with new pedicure chairs and other changes appear to be in the works. I look forward to continued patronage of this business.

Mav Ali I give it a 3 star because the older lady’s were rude and when I asked to do design or put some diamonds she flat out told me “NO, she doesn’t have time” I am a customer and if I come to get my nails done in it place then u should make sure I m happy with ur service but I guess they don’t care! Well I did my nails On 10/23/20 and on 10/25 one of my nails just broke and on 10/26 second broke! I m not even taking about the cuticles they are terrible. I m very displeased with the service and my nails! I should have gone back to Delacqua Salon instead of giving them business and a tip of 18$ I don’t recommend this place!
