1 /5 Tasha Hackett: I went there because I was struggling with HG. They proceeded to stick me 3 different times trying to draw blood and get an IV going and I told them that I ALWAYS have issues with my veins. They never tried to do a smaller needle aka butterfly until the lab tech, China came in. She was awesome! She only had to come in because it was so hard for them to draw blood and by the time they drew it, they said it was clotting. So altogether I get stuck 4 times. When they thought they had a vein for the IV, (she literally stabbed me in my arm and kept moving the needle around) they started pushing fluids and I told the nurse that it was hurting. She said I had a small bump but it could have been there before so she continued to try to push fluids. I told her again it was hurting and by this time, my whole arm was getting sore. At this point you could see a bubble under my skin where the fluids were just pooling up. She removed the IV and I told her don’t try to stick me again and just give me a dissolvable tab. She responded with “we’re gonna have to stick you again” and I told her can I just try the tab. They gave me the tab and I was doing better after that. It took 3 different people to try to poke me and none of them seemed to know what they were doing and that made me and my spouse very uncomfortable. Thank you, China for all of your help but everyone else outside of intake was a nightmare! Today I went to remove my bandaids that the nurse put on me and it literally ripped a layer of my skin off. It’s like they used the strongest adhesive they could find and put it on such a sensitive part on my body. I will more than likely go to Carthage for any future emergencies. I’ve attached pics and circled where they stuck me and also where the bandaid ripped my skin. That’s also where they tried to continuously push the IV.
