Caren, a stylist in the salon is fantastic, in all the ways possible! Thank you for your service, & excellent treatment. Self-care at its best. I will definitely be returning. ☆☆☆☆☆

Abigail Tessier Kimi gave me a beautiful color correction! On Saturday I had gone to a different salon and the hairdresser gave me a huge splotch on the back of my head that was lighter than the rest, as well as highlights that looked like they were already 3 weeks grown out. Only 4 days later, just before the holiday, Kimi took care of me and evened out my tone as well as fixing my roots. I am beyond impressed!

Kelsey Fisher I had my brows done by Stacie yesterday, and I couldnt be happier with the results! She truly has a knack for shaping brows and made sure to listen to my preferences. Her attention to detail and expertise were evident and my brows look amazing! I cant wait to book another appointment with her. Thank you for your excellent service!

Marie Sanderson I had such a great experience at The Mane Event today. This was my first short haircut since 1968 and I had some nervousness. Max was so helpful and helped me choose just the right cut. He did an amazing job and I couldn’t be happier:). I feel like a million bucks!

Friede Visited Bob for the first time for a cut yesterday. My hair turned out just what I wanted. I had some pictures with and a lot of questions about what would look best with my head shape, my self cut bang mishap, and my plans to grow out my hair long again. We talked for about 20 minutes before cutting and he gave honest feedback which was wanted and appreciated! I had a great time especially with the two little pups who greeted me. Thank you Bob I will definitely be back!

Isabella Westcott I had the pleasure of working with Danu as my stylist. I had a wash, trim, and style. Danu asked about my hair goals, made suggestions, and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy with the end result. To say I am elated is an understatement. I am so happy with my cut, it is exactly what I needed after an exhausting week. I feel refreshed and beautiful! I got to speak with the owner Julie Stone and was very impressed with both her and Danus customer service. I asked about products and Danu made excellent recommendations while keeping my budget in mind. I will definitely be returning. Thank you again for the excellent service! I will say that this salon charges a bit more than I am used to spending on my hair services (I had been going to supercuts, eek). However, the value of the service is well worth the price. I encourage you to not be dismayed by their pricing as they offer exceptional service.

Chandra Henry When I arrived, my roots were brown and the rest of my hair was a golden yellow color. I told them that I needed platinum blonde because afterwards I was going to dye my hair bright blue and I didnt want the base color interfering with the dye. The service took about 5 hours and they seemed very overwhelmed because I have long curly hair and they didnt have enough staff to cover their appointments. (The RECEPTIONIST was styling my hair for half of the duration because they overbooked). When placing the bleach, i warned that my head was burning and she continued to apply product ensuring it was a normal sensation. The process took another half hour (at least) with my head feeling like it was on fire. Later I discovered several scabs on my head and I am concerned of a worsening chemical burn. They were very sweet people. But when they finished, my hair was still yellow with a little bit of blonde at the roots, but I was assured it was light enough for the color that I was choosing to dye. After dying my hair, my hair is not blue, it is majority green, because they left a lot of yellow in my hair. I paid $250 for this service and now my hair is green! Which is what I told them I wanted to avoid in the first place. I would have just bleached myself if I wanted mediocre results. I wanted was a clean slate to dye on and they were unable take the tones out of my hair. Overpriced services for an understaffed and seemingly unprepared salon. The blue is the color i used in my hair, the green is what my hair turned out as. Also, she asked to cut off an inch and I am missing like 6 inches of hair!! Wildly disappointed

D. B. Julie and Danu are wonderful hair stylists. I first started coming here over four years ago when I moved to town and I felt at home immediately. They both listen well and understand how to handle my "two-zone" hair. Ive most recently been working with Danu and find her to be attentive and talented, a great combo! Highly recommend this salon.

Britt Snider I brought my daughters here for a last minute hair trim. The beauticians were very nice to talk to and knew how to deal with a toddler in for her first hair cut. Definitely will be going again.

Maria Devan I just moved to the neighborhood and have heard lots of folks recommend the shop. It’s easy to get to, they take walk ins. I saw Josh and was happy enough to say I’ll be back. I did go back but this time e I saw Pam and I changed my rating to a 5. She did a super job on my eyebrows and gave me a perfect cut. Ill keep going there as long as they are open for business.

Robin Gavin Josh is just the best! I had been going to the same stylist for too many years to count. I dont know if this person is getting old or if it is me but I would ask for a trim and all of a sudden I looked like a bowling pin with such short hair! Josh has been able in one visit to correct my style and bring me up to date. Best haircut I have ever had and my husband now uses Josh as well. Whew!

Marinda OBryant I took a chance based upon reviews...and Hanunah did not disappoint! She is kind and welcoming. She took care of my hair beautifully and I walked out of there with a smile! The spot in Ithaca for black, natural hair! Thank you!!! I can’t recommend her enough!

Avery Mae There is no denying that they do good hair here which is why I came back twice. However, I would regularly hear them gossip about people and clients as soon as they exited the shop. Im sure they talk about me the minute I walk out the door. Usually, when I get my hair done it last for 8-12 weeks, however the last time it barely lasted a month so I decided between that and the gossip there is really no need to come back.

Hannah McUmber I don’t ever leave reviews but this is one I just have to!! All I can say is WOW! This was the best salon experience I’ve ever had. I felt so comfortable and welcomed. She did not make me feel bad for my lack of hair care or inexperience. She gave me so much helpful advice to benefit only me. she wasn’t just there for a paycheck. I had an absolutely amazing time and experience and can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much for everything!! My extensions are PERFECT.

Crystal is professional and I left with a new haircut, of which I only provided a "vision" - that she was able to bring to fruition. Highly recommend! Note: cash discount over credit card.

M Mekenna Crystal has been my hair dresser for over 10 years, my hair is not easy to manage and I am not patient with it. She always does a creative job and makes my life easier. Plus were good friends now, I enjoy my Crystal therapy time.

Finally, I got in to see Morgan, a curl expert! And her shampoos are HEAVENLY. I’m so happy! Plus the staff is friendly and welcoming. Karma is THE BOMB!

Michelle DeWall Morgan is amazing! I’m pretty picky about who I let touch my hair. I have fine wavy/curly hair and the cut she gave me totally brought my curls back to life! She spent some time getting to know my hair, and her styling was on point. The whole process was a tutorial on how to style my hair. She knows what she’s doing, ladies with waves!

Jessica Meyer I got my very long, very curly hair cut by Morgan recently and she was INCREDIBLE. I was nervous and hadnt been to a salon in a long time, and she was so friendly and patient and took time to go through exactly what I wanted. Casey nash Earlier this year I was told to go see Robbie by my boss. Going in the first time I was extremely nervous because I’ve only had my hair cut by 2 other people in my life. So this was a big really big deal to me. I sat down in his chair almost immediately Robbie’s confidence and bubbly personality really relaxed me. That allowed me to take in the experience and thoroughly enjoy it. Today was my 3rd time back to get my hair cut by Robbie. Absolutely love Fru-Fru Hair, the salon is so abstract and enjoyable. Also the location is great! Very peaceful for downtown Ithaca. My favorite part of the salon was the amazing new hair style Robbie gave me! The best haircut I’ve ever had!!! Joan Doria Robby Brown had been my guy for several years at a well known salon. I switched to him because I liked his energy and felt he could help update this mid-fifties lady. Now, hes struck out on his own! Robbys hung out his own shingle, right in Fall Creek.✂️ It was never a question to follow him. He knows how to work with my fine, thin hair, helping me look good vs frumpy - sometimes Ive been given an edgy (for me) look for a fun workable update. Plus, he does my eyebrows. My teen son sees Robby, too. We both feel Robby listens and understands what a growing kid wants. Thats not always easy to find and we had to kiss a few frogs first. When I said that the well known salon was closing my son asked slightly worriedly, "is Robby still around?" When I said yes, hes got his very own salon, my son replied "Good. As long as I can still see Robby." Teen endorsement is gold. Robbys smart, creative, intuitive, polite and kind. I look forward to many years of artistry and conversation with him.

Perri McGowan Ive seen Biz a few times now, and she is the best. She really took the time to find out what I wanted and figured out why I had been annoyed at my hair after the last cut from someone else (at a different salon). All the people I have interacted with at Changes have been great and the space is awesome. Very happy to have finally found someone who I can see regularly and know I will get a great cut.

Joe This place was recommended to my girlfriend and she loved it period. They actually understood what she meant by layering and everything she wanted. Shes always telling me to go here for a haircut. Im really bad at getting haircuts when I need to. But I think it was $25 for her haircut which is very reasonable especially for a womans haircut.

Richard Ballantyne Mitsy has been doing such a great job on my hair for the past 10 years! She is really calm, and her hands are gentle and coordinated. It is very relaxing to get my hair cut from her. Also, she doesnt talk incessantly to her clients like so many other hairdressers do.

Dorothy Lovelace I used blue and purple box dye on my hair at home and it came out darker than I wanted. I’m pretty easy going about my hair, but I thought I’d treat myself and it get it redone at the salon since I’ve been feeling depressed lately. Got a same day appointment which was great. I said several times I liked the royal blue color but I wanted it brighter. I asked for ombré with blue roots, purple between and red ends. The stylist put color remover on and got all of the blue dye out of my strawberry blonde hair. After processing my roots were even darker & duller, now a gray turquoise color; most of my hair was a very dark purple color. That’s a blessing because the blue is such an ugly color I’m happy there is little of it showing. I said right away I didn’t like it and it wasn’t what I asked for. When I commented it was not brighter the stylist told me it might brighten up as it faded. That’s preposterous. She then asked for full payment while apologizing about my hair. She offered to let me come back and put more blue hair dye over the roots for free, I commented that wouldn’t make it brighter. I said I was happier with the way it looked before I came in. At no point did she offer to fix it by using color remover or a lightening product or offer any other suggestions to help me get the outcome I asked for. I declined to have a picture taken of the results which she asked to do. When I called back and said I’d come back to just have it covered up with a solid color since I’m so unhappy with it she told me she she is booked and couldn’t get me in until 5 days later. When I got the receipt from the transaction yesterday at 3:30pm it asked for feedback and I relayed all this information; including that had the box dye not come out I would understand and live with what I got. It is 11am the next day and I’m going to assume they don’t read the feedback daily because otherwise they are just not responding to a client who had a bad experience and shared that with them. This was obviously an error on the colorists part. The response has been utterly inadequate though. I did not get what I asked for, they did not offer to fix it they offered to cover it up, and couldn’t make time for me until nearly a week later. I left feeling like they didn’t care about the outcome or my experience. I’m so unhappy I cancelled the ‘free’ follow up appointment and will probably just put some box dye over it until it grows out. When I called to cancel the appointment I said I was unhappy with the response I got and the person who answered the phone said ‘ok’

Almande I asked to have 1.5 - 2 inches taken off my existing cut and specified I wanted to be sure the ends would not be bulky or flip out. The stylist completely changed the shape of the cut. Now my hair cannot be styled normally and flips out very far or forms an inverted v - opposite of what I had and asked for. This place is very hit and miss.

Nicole Tudor I had recently gotten my hair done here and was utterly disappointed. I had asked for a layered haircut and when I told her to stop cutting my hair she kept going. And now my hair is in shambles. I will never come back here again and hope this review finds them well.

Sophia Jessie is the best! I’ve been getting my hair cut from her for a couple years on and off, but recently, I purchased a wig that needed some customization. I knew she would get the job done, and she exceeded my expectations! My wig is more personalized now and it just feels like me. She will listen to you and fully consider what it is you’d like. She is also very friendly and sweet and down to earth. I enjoy our conversations when I go!

Casey Benson Jessie gave me a great haircut! She understood exactly what I wanted and took time to make sure it was just right. The hair products smelled great and left my hair feeling soft and bouncy. I’m really pleased with the whole experience and look forward to my next cut!

Jessica Cornejo The salon owner, Jessie did an amazing job and her experience cutting/caring for curly hair is reflected in her work. The Hair Studio décor and ambiance had a relaxing touch to the experience, which was appreciated by someone who doesnt often get their hair cut professionally. Its also a great spot for students as its a short walk from The Commons and TCAT bus stops.
